Welcome to JulesKnox.com
After graduating with a business degree from university, I spent four years backpacking around the world. I lived with a Palestinian family on the West Bank, hitchhiked on a Bolivian cargo ship into the Amazon basin and backpacked through Syria months before the turmoil erupted. I listened to people’s stories everywhere I went. When I got back home, I decided to start telling some of these stories. It wasn’t long before I was back at school, this time for journalism.
I’ve covered the school shooting in La Loche, the wildfires in northern Saskatchewan, and numerous high-profile crime, court and civic stories. I shoot, write and edit my own stories for television, and I’ve also published articles in most of Canada’s major newspapers, including the Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, and Vancouver Sun.
My formal education includes a Bachelor of Commerce from UBC’s Sauder School of Business and a post-graduate journalism certificate from Langara College. I was also a recipient of the Jeani Read-Michael Mercer fellowship for an in-depth series about how the digital age is revolutionizing health care.
